Beijing Reunion
Golden October of 2004 was an unforgettable period, when
I spent an joyful t
ime traveling to cities of HeFei, HangZhong, NingBo, ShangHai and SoZhou
in Chin
a with long hair female friends from internet. I wrote an article named
Joyful T
rip in publications and over the internets. Fan of long hairs from Beijing,
Guan
gdong, Guangxi, Jiangsu, Hainan Island, Fujian and Inner Mogolia sending
me mail
s and messages, and welcome me to their places for a gathering. I was
looking fo
rward to it yet busy with my work without an excuse to leave…
To my surprise, a good news like a warm breeze in the cold spring of
2005 bl
ew into my face that SDTV and LN Education Publishing House would join
hold the
Third Guiniss Book of Record ( China) and Award Ceremony of Chinese Section
for
Guiness Record and invited me for their opening ceremony in Beijing, China.
I was overjoyed with tears and took north a bound train to Beijing,
witnesse
d a comic show of “Separated as we are thousands of miles apart in reality,
we
come together as if by predestination. ... ”
I am told that in the past year, eighteen achievements made in science
and tech and stunts displayed by folk artists in China have been authorized
as new guinness records. Today the Award Ceremony of Guinness Records
will be held at the No.2 Auditorium in China Millennium Monument (the
World Art Museum). Mr. Hosette, the Chief Liaison Officer of the Guinness
Book of World Records, will be present to award certificates to those
organizations and individuals who win the records.
8:30
a.m., 28th, January. It’s time for the cast to get in the audition studio,
where the staff is already busy adjusting devices. I, together with the
other long haired ladies, have our costumes and make-up prepared. In the
waiting room, I am interviewed by the reporters from the Reuter, Shandong
TV, and Dalian TV. It’s a good chance for me to say something about our
beautiful long hair and the unique culture it carries and the bright future
it brings.
2:00
p.m., the ceremony begins with an opening dance and feats show. The flash
lamps of cameras twinkle with the spectacular shows. When the moderate
says: “Let’s welcome Yang Liwei, our astronautic hero, go on the stage
and receive the award.” The auditoria bust into long-lasting applause
and cheering. His space voyage with “Shenzhou V Spaceship” is listed in
the Guinness Book of World Records as the longest maiden voyage of its
kind.
We
know it’s our turn now when the moderate announces in a heated tone: “Now
present will be some special records applicants, who have waited for this
day for decades. Let’s welcome these five ladies from Inner Mongolia,
Anhui and Shandong!” I say to my long haired companions: “It’s our show
time now. Let’s be the best of ourselves, because we are representing
all long haired ladies.” Our
show with our long and elegant hair makes the auditorium a sea of happiness.
After the show, the moderate asks us to introduce ourselves and the stories
about our long hair. I say to the audience with confidence: “I come from
Chuzhou in Anhui Province, an city with picturesque mountains and rivers.
I wear long hair for many years so as to bring beauty to my life and the
world and bring joy to myself and people around. The long hair is another
face of women and the source of women scent. The long hair is a poem,
a song and a picture. I think wearing long hair is a unique culture. In
order to spread the culture I have built up a theme website, China’ first
website built by a long haired lady. We have long hair as well as strong
will, that is, to make long hair contribute to the economic development,
cultural communication and commonweal activities, and to the 2008 Olympic
Games!” My
words are responded by excited applause from the audience. The moderate
goes on to say: “Now I must say these ladies are so attractive for their
long hair, and what’s more for their tender voice and smile. Miss Shen
Ni also speaks a poetic language!” I am so proud and relaxed for I have
already told the audience without reservation our long haired ladies’
thought and hope and received their assonance. The moderate raises another
question to us: “To wear such a long hair must be something fun. Would
you like to share your fun with us?” Miss Wang Surong: “Sometimes my hair
would be wound when I ride a bicycle.” Miss Liu Xuemei: “Sometimes my
hair would be accidentally trampled when I am in a crowded bus.” The moderate
then says to Miss Guo Xiaohui: “In 2003 you wrote to us saying that you
had a friend named Dai Yueqin whose hair was as long as 3 meters. You
were sure that her hair would be the longest among China, if not the longest
among the world. But today we have invited here another long haired lady
whose hair is as three time long as her natural height. All
of us are eager to see whose hair is the longest, Miss Guo, Miss Shen
who gave us a brilliant speech just now, or this lady. Let’s welcome Miss
Xie Qiuping from Shenzhen.” The music ushers in a lady in large red silk
with her long hair bound like bamboo and held up by her sister. And now
Miss Guo and I have already unfolded our long hair. The moderate asks
us three to stand in a line close to the audience. “Now let’s see which
of these three amazing ladies has the longest hair!” When the audience
are appreciating our long hair, the moderate asks Miss Xie: “We have so
many long haired ladies with us today. You must know much about hair care.
Some says hair has life and would stop growing longer till a certain time.
So Miss Xie, why do you wear such long hair and how do you take care of
it?” Miss Xie responds: “I am in love with long hair. Such long hair needs
not just external care but internal adjustment. So it’s important to keep
ourselves in a good mood…” Now Miss Wu Xiaohong, the sole Guinness World
Records liaison officer outside Britain walks on the stage and awards
the Guinness Record certificate “ The World’s Longest Hair”.
The
whole ceremony has awarded ten certificates and a special award. The 25
participating actors and actress including us long haired ladies are also
awarded the Guinness Honorable Award in 2004.
I have invited Mr. Yu, chief editor of View and Mr. Cao
the manager of another long hair website to come to the scene and they
have taken a large number of pictures memorizing many wonderful moments.
I feel honored that so many people at the ceremony are
impressed by my long hair. Yang Liwei, the astronautic hero, had a picture
with me. Mr. Hosette came to me and said: “You are wonderful! Your hair
is very beautiful!” And the interpreter of Mr. Ferman, who has won 27
Guinness records came to tell me that Mr. Ferman likes me very much. Many
other participants of the ceremony also expressed to me their admiration
to our amazing long hair and versatility.
Ah, what amazing long hair! What a magnificent stage and
what an unforgettable moment! Bravo! Beautiful long haired ladies! Bravo!
Our beautiful world!
